Iran, Syria Set Up Joint Commerce Chamber to Boost Economic, Trade Relations

The joint chamber of commerce was set up in a meeting between Deputy Head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Hossein Selahvarzi and President of Federation of Syrian Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Ghassan Al Qallaa.
During the meeting, Selahvarzi pointed to the formation of a main office in ICCIMA for development of cooperation between Iran and Syriam and said, "Iranian private sector is determined to have a strong and effective presence in the Syrian market in a bid to meet requirements and contribute to reconstruction of Syria."
Al Qallaa, for his part, appreciated Iran’s support for Syria, and said, "Despite existence of strong political ties between the two countries, their economic interactions are not at satisfactory level."
Iran is among the 43 countries that have attended the 59th edition of Damascus International Fair, which kicked off on Thursday after a halt for five years.
Iran has the highest number of companies in the event, with 30 firms in a pavilion in an area of more than 1,000 square meters.
